My Journal: Summer Evening

Tonight I am up here in an Adirondack chair that my little brother Danny made. I have found a new favorite spot in the Inn. I have been taking my laptop up to the third floor deck that overlooks Flint’s river. For me this is a nice spot to come out and write and read.

The weather tonight is just perfect. It finally cooled off and is at a comfortable temperature. It’s just perfect. Town seems busy tonight and it’s good to be up here looking down from a safe distance.

I get Internet access from the library just inside and it’s nice to sit outside and look up my favorite sites and enjoy the evening.

This Tuesday we are leaving for Camp Barakel. I am looking forward to seeing my dear brother Chuk and getting some real sunshine. I always enjoy going to the water front and reading while dipping my feet in the cold northern water. Usually I don’t read at all but laugh as I watch other kids swim and dive off the diving board. Someday I will also be in the water and be able to swim but for now I watch from the dock. It’s not so bad either. I am really hoping to be able to Kayak out on the lake too, I really love doing that.

So I am excited about the coming week though I will miss not having my dear laptop to always be looking something up, writing an essay or keeping up with my friends. It will be a nice time.

After we get back from Camp Barakel Mom, her sister, us girls and our cousins are going down to Kentucky. I am very excited about being able to do that again though Grandma won’t be there it will still be good to go back. We are planning on staying in my great Grandma’s old house in town and that is always an adventure to say the least. Then on Saturday nights we go down to the “ho-down” and watch clogging. That is one of my favorite things to do. Clogging is very entertaining to watch too. So am looking forward to that.

Anyway…things are going well and life is very good. Kyle and Elizabeth are happy as two people can possibly be. Today they enjoyed the beach and Kyle says Elizabeth is making their house a real home. He says being married is “Amazing, Wonderful, the best thing that ever happened to him, etc.etc.etc.”

Soon I will have more pictures to post here of Camp!
