My Journal: A Good Book & Sweet Tea

autumn sceneWork is going well… God is teaching me so much. It’s neat to be in the heart of ministry like I am and see the ways in which God is working with families all over. Every morning I go to a meeting with Mr. Gothard, Dad and all the staff he has working on special projects. I get to be around the big conference table and see things as they just begin. I really see it as a privilege to work so closely with him and the whole team. I love being able to work with Dad so closely as well. It’s been a good work and it really is beautiful here…

I think I will go now — and maybe read the book “A Man Called Peter” by Catharine Marshall very good book by the way and maybe get some good sweet tea.

Lately I have been thinking about how important it is to be as close as I can possibly be to the heart of my Jesus. I thought of how much I DON’T want satan (refuse to capitalize that name) to have any control over who I am. I realize that if that is what I want I can have NO sin in my life. I have to take care of the sin that comes in daily. Like weeding a garden. I have to take care of the “little” ones that lead to the “big” ones. How I want to be close to Jesus. How I want my life to reflect His beauty. That is truly the very deepest heart cry of mine tonight.

I was recently at a conference and hundreds of the young people sang the beautiful song in beautiful harmony,

Oh to be like Thee, Oh to be like Thee
Blessed Redeemer pure as Thou art,
Come in Thy sweetness come in Thy fullness
Stamp Thine Own image deep on my heart.

Tears were literally streaming down my face and I couldn’t sing it but I wanted to so, so much! I want that in my life I really, really do. Just to be like Him. And I know that it starts with nothing in between me and Him.

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul after You, Oh God.” Psalm 42:1

Wow! I don’t know what to say. I love feeling the passion of wanting to be like Christ. Having such a hunger and want to know Him is amazing. I pray that you will be quentched by God’s living water…really have an intimate (nothing between you and Him) relationship! I strive for that too, but the desire comes and goes. Use the opprotunity to rest in the Lord and learn from Him.

~I was very impressed by your site and am very excited to read about what God has been doing in your life.
