Oh, How I Love Him, How I Adore Him…

pink-gerber-2.jpgTonight I have read and meditated on one of the most beautiful love stories ever told, ever acted out in human flesh. This is the story of my Jesus. I am so happy to call Him my own. To think about all He has done for me and to meditate upon His perfect love I will never tire of this.

His Love shows perfect humility:

And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marveled greatly. Mathew 27:12-14

His Love was completely sinless:

The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. Matthew 27:21-23

His Love is perfect Love:

And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. Matthew 27:28-30

His Love for me is so beautiful! This Man is my Jesus…can I ever explain how I love Him? He is everything and more than I will ever need in life. If He was the only thing I ever had I would have so much more than enough. He is the one I want more than food, breath, loved ones-anything! He is my all in all. He is my life. I love Him so much. To no other do I owe so much. I give Him everything — this is the song of my heart tonight that I keep singing:

Chorus
Oh how I love Him! How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God’s fullness dwelleth in Him!

Ok, ok…..so what will it be this week? I think its too cold to kayak, maybe we could just kinda do the drinking of the tea and then go snowboarding on the glacier.

Anyhows, that was a nice piece you wrote there. I find your (as well as your family’s) love for Christ quite admirable and inspiring. It is such a beautiful thing….we are given so much, it’s hard to take in.

As tomorrow is a holiday of love and in so many ways polluted with strange romantic sensuality its nice that you point back to the One who defines for us love. Love that isn’t feeling and self but rather concious choice and self-sacrifice.

I rememeber quite distinctly the morning when your dad preached up in the Regency and shared a challenge to plead with God to fall deeply, passionately in love with Jesus Christ. That call to faith and the results have been a beautiful blessing in my life. Ask him if he remembers preaching that one….it was a great word and I thank him for sharing that blessing.

Have a great rest of the week, tea at the rendezvous at 6, over and out.

  8. Chuck Clark says:

Thanks so much Holly for sharing you testimony of the Love of Christ in your life. I relate so very much to what you said. I find in Jesus so much more than a religion. Jesus came and gave Himself as a sacrifice befor His Father in our behalf that there would be no vail of sin between our heavenly Father and us, that we might have a personal and direct relationship with our heavenly Father. You are truely blessed. Don’t let the things of this world ever attempt to suffocate this love that you have for Christ. Keep the light of Christ burning brightly in your life that the world can know that Jesus lives.

    Love in Christ,
    Chuck Clark

This song is one my pastor sings every time we have church and it always moves me. Its like hes filled with the spirit when he sings this song and with each word the spirit flows over the people. He has a beautiful voice and the words to this song are so wonderful. I feel blessed everytime I hear it.
I enjoyed reading your thoughts thank you for sharing them. I too, thank Jesus and Love him for giving his life for me. God Bless.
