I love the old Bible story of Isaac and Rebekah. I love the faith, trust, and love in this beautiful story. It was evening and Rebekah went out to water the camels. Rebekah was serving and helping an older man, that to her knowledge, could never give her anything. He was older and yet she really and truly served this older man, with no self-seeking gain of her own. And God had His man waiting for her. Isaac. God’s beautiful story unfolded. Rebekah’s trust and servants heart, is such a great reminder to all of us waiting for the Lord.
Every time I see a camel I think of this beautiful story in the Bible. So I have picked up little figurines here and there and have one sitting in my room on my dresser. I just recently ordered this beautiful tiny little camel necklace. And the beautiful little sterling silver pendant hangs around my neck. It is there to always remind me to wait for my Isaac= God’s best for me. Wait for God’s best. Serve God. Water the camels. Do good. And wait for the blessing of Lord. Sometimes in the most unlikely ways. Uncommen places and totally unique circumstances. Like Rebekah. She didn’t go out and search for her man. She didn’t try to set herself up in the right places. She simply was faithfully watering the camels. And helping an older man. And that was how God’s beautiful plan unfolded for her life. And when she laid eyes on her Isaac for the first time… he was out in the field… praying. Wait for your Isaac. Genesis 24

Holly such a great reminder put so simply, but with such meaning. I will be sharing this with my teen daughters and their friends. You are a great encouragement.
Great thoughts Holz. Amen!!!
Such a great post – a good encouragement for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this encouragement! Blessings!
I was reading this story in my devotions last week and was thinking on the same line. I have a quote written in the margin of my bible that says: ” Rebekah’s obedience led her to a great man.”
