Eve’s first problem:: But fruit is GOOD for you!!

Eve. Her first problem was not eating the forbidden fruit. I believe her first problem was, conversing with the Serpent. She knew God’s desire for her. She knew what she should and should not do and yet, when she was asked a question of the Serpent, she stopped and answered him. Her first mistake. (Gen.3:1-2) Our first problem, sometimes is talking with, thinking about, or questioning God’s Words to us. He has already made it clear to us! And yet, we still have days where we want to talk about the situation. We want to ask questions or we stop and converse with the Enemy. We stop and think about things we shouldn’t do or think about. THAT leads to sin. That can mess up our whole world. Literally!

Fruit is good for you! Right?!?! Fruit is one of God’s most beautiful, most wonderful creations and so wonderful for your body and to your health. (Did you know that we should have 2 1/2 to 6 1/2 cups per day! Ooops. I need to be better at this.) Yet, something so good was off limits. Wait::Back up…. what?!?! God said no to fruit?!?! Why? Dooooon’t ask questions. When I was younger I remember asking questions. I am a curious person so I like to ask questions. So I asked my mom one day after hearing this Bible story. Which was always one of my favorites “Mom, WHY was she not allowed to eat that fruit??” My mom’s answer, “She just wasn’t, God said “no”" End of story. My mom has that “God says it, I believe it, that setttles it” down better than I do. ;) God just said…. “no”. Sometimes I still wonder… but why?? :)

Sometimes God says “no” to good things for us. Sometimes God says no to something that looks SOOOOO good!! And healthy and wonderful for us. To give us something FAR better! health for our souls maybe? God saw the big picture. And God said “No.”

Today, did God say “no” Are questioning that? Are you conversing with the Enemy of your soul about this? Is he asking you questions and you are answering him back? Remember WHO wants your greatest good. And like our mom’s like to say to us “No, means, no.” “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord… plans for good”!! Jer. 29:11 TRUST Him when he says “No” He has bigger plans, waiting for you JUST around the next corner. Don’t stop when you hear the hissing snake! Keep moving! Good plans. Believe it. Live it. Keep walking and see what He brings into view for His daughter that He loves beyond comprehension. ;)
